Saurabh Seshan is a disciple of Pt. Shiv Shankar Ray, a senior disciple of Legendary Padmabhushan Pt. Gnan Prakash Ghosh. He started learning the Tabla at the age of 15 under, Guru Sh. Arunava Chanda, a noted disciple of Ustad Sabir Khan of Farrukhabad Gharana. In conjunction with his studies, Saurabh pursued the art and technique of tabla seriously and soon started playing various solo and collaborative concerts.

 

 

Saurabh has extended his musical horizons in his musical endeavours by incorporating  Carnatic rhythm system, while  composing and performing at various concerts.

 

He continues to explore new rhythmic possibilities and sounds not only with Tabla but also through various other electronic and acoustic percussions like the Wavedrum , Djembe and Cajon.

Saurabh has performed for Radio Gandharv, world space Radio and has collaborated with Various  International Artists like Nicola Offidani  and  Daniel Kachiros.

 

He also composes for various Percussion ensembles and is part of a Fusion Band called “The Trio”

 

Saurabh continues to share his understanding and love for rhythm by engaging with his students and musicians with diverse influences.
